With the transfer of various goods through the Port of Guaymas, the National Chamber of Cargo Transport (Canacar) seeks to benefit the member transporters, said Héctor Martínez Arias.
The Canacar delegate in Sonora indicated that large and medium-sized companies will approach the National Port Administration (Asipona) in Guaymas and the companies that will move the goods by their own means.
He pointed out that in the case of small companies (those that have between 20 and 50 trucks) the directors will also approach them but at the appropriate time to offer the services in order to see what they can participate in.
I am going to go to Guaymas to offer the service and according to the market and the opportunities there will be those of us who can accommodate and those who cannot, once the modernization is completed, and the same will be done by the directors of each company,” he said.
In June, he recalled, the Ford assembly and stamping plant sent the first cars of the Maverick and Bronco lines, which are manufactured in Sonora, as a pilot plan to South America.
Currently, he said, the activity of cargo trucks decreased to a great extent after the spring-summer fruit and vegetable harvest ended in the State, which has led them to look to states like Baja California for the movement of other products.
Right now, since there is no fruit and vegetable season, we are going to Tijuana, to different parts of the region to work, and we are in contact with the members where we are notified of events that occur,” he said.
In Baja California, according to the testimonies given by his colleagues at the meeting of the National Executive Council of Canacar, he said, the situation is different for cargo transport drivers due to the roads and the actions of the authorities, since they demand bribes from them.
