Mexicana Airlines inaugurated its 18th destination with a round-trip flight departing from Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) to Hermosillo International Airport in Sonora.

The new route will operate six days a week, offering one daily flight from each airport.
Modern Embraer Aircraft Will Serve the Route

Passenger service between Sonora and the Mexico City metropolitan area will be operated using Embraer 190 E2 and Embraer 195 E2 aircraft, which are equipped with advanced technology designed to enhance the passenger flight experience.
Officials Present at the Inauguration

The official inauguration ceremony was attended by:
- Leobardo Ávila, General Director of Mexicana Airlines
- Nelly Minerva Carrasco, Secretary of Tourism of the State of Mexico
- Roberto Gradillas, Secretary of Economy and Tourism of the State of Sonora
- Eleazar Ramírez Espíndola, Legal Director and Legal Representative of AIFA
The officials participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the launch of the new route, which aims to strengthen domestic connectivity across Mexico.

Next Destination Planned
The General Director of Mexicana Airlines also announced that the airline’s next domestic destination is expected to be in the Bajío region. The goal is to expand the network to 19 domestic destinations before the end of the year with the addition of a new route connecting AIFA and Guanajuato.
