Hermosillo will be one of six Mexican venues for the Tour de France international cycling competition, announced the mayor of Hermosillo. Antonio Astiazarán reported that on October 18, more than a thousand cyclists will participate in a race that will begin in Hermosillo and end in Bahía de Kino, with distances of 40, 73, and 123 kilometers.

More than a thousand cyclists will finish their Tour de France race in Bahía de Kino and at the Public Market. “More than a thousand people will come to Bahía de Kino on October 18th to shop, buy products, experience our natural beauty, and enjoy the sport,” he stated.

The mayor invited cyclists to participate in this event, which will take place as part of Kino Fest. The winner of this route is expected to participate in the Tour de France.

The cyclists will depart from Hermosillo’s Parque Madero and finish at the recently inaugurated Public Market, located across from the Bahía de Kino pier.

Mario Mitrani, director of Alive Entertainment tour, explained that registration for the general public will be available through the website hazdeporte.com.

“We’ll have several surprises, prizes for the top finishers, and the goal is to take them to France.” “The idea is for them to experience this brand, the most renowned in cycling, the Tour de France, just like professional cyclists,” he said.

Ramón Neme Sastre, president of the board of Alive Entertainment, stated that this event is of utmost importance to the residents of Kino and Hermosillo, and they hope it will become a permanent fixture.

“Our goal is to generate economic benefits for the community, for the municipality, to involve everyone in this event, and for it not to be a one-off, but to become a great icon of this great place,” he emphasized.

The Tour de France route will feature stages and routes across continents. In the Americas, there will be venues in countries such as Costa Rica, Paraguay, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico. Mexico alone will host six venues, including Hermosillo, La Paz, Tabasco, Cancún, Tlaxcala, and Mexico City.
