The president stressed that Sonora will be one of the states that will benefit the most from the National Road Conservation Program and the ‘Megabachetón’ 2026.
Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño consolidated a historic investment in highway infrastructure, allocating 940 million pesos for the conservation, rehabilitation and modernization of state highways in municipalities of Sonora.
The above, with the aim of promoting economic development, mobility, and regional competitiveness. This budget will strengthen production chains, improve logistics connectivity, increase road safety, and stimulate tourism, directly benefiting key regions of the state.
The actions include rehabilitation works, periodic and routine conservation, neighborhood roads, and the preparation of executive projects.
Which municipalities will benefit?
Among the interventions are conservation works in municipalities such as Hermosillo, Cajeme, San Luis Río Colorado, Caborca, Magdalena, Moctezuma, Navojoa, and Mazatán, in addition to specific drainage works, bridges, and strategic road sections that strengthen regional mobility.
Work on strategic federal highways
Durazo stressed that Sonora will be one of the states that will benefit the most from the National Road Conservation Program and the Megabachetón 2026, promoted by the government of Mexico headed by President Claudia Sheinbaum, whose objective is to modernize the federal network, rehabilitate priority sections, and make the country’s connectivity more efficient.
As part of this national strategy, strategic federal highways such as 2 (Ímuris-Agua Prieta-Janos), 15 (Guaymas-Hermosillo), 16 (Hermosillo-Yécora), and 17 (Moctezuma-Agua Prieta) will be intervened.
The state governor stressed that, with these actions, the government of Sonora reaffirms its commitment to build a modern, safe, and functional infrastructure in coordination with thegovernment of Mexico.
