Meteorology specialists warned of high temperatures that will be recorded in the state of Sonora during the month of October, which are expected to break records for extreme heat.
Gilberto Lagarda Vázquez, technical specialist of the National Water Commission (Conagua), said that thermometers will be around 45 degrees for the next three weeks.
“The forecasts for dry conditions, without precipitation for the state of Sonora, are maintained. High temperatures will continue,” he said.
According to information from the State Coordination of Civil Protection (CEPC), the chances of rain are practically zero.
“It is recommended to take extreme precautions, stay hydrated and avoid exposure to the sun during the most critical hours of the day,” he noted.
On October 1, Hermosillo broke its record for high temperatures for a similar day with 42.5 degrees.
Which areas of Sonora will have the highest values?
The highest temperatures will be in the central, southern and northwestern regions, while minimum temperatures will be around ten degrees in the eastern mountains of the state.
