Authorities have confiscated merchandise worth 150 million pesos in three establishments in the capital of Sonora, according to a statement from the state governor. This operation is part of the “Cleaning Operation,” which began today in stores of Chinese origin.
In a national press conference, Alfonso Durazo reported that they are seeking to “verify the origin and legal introduction of these goods into the commerce of the capital of Sonora, and the unfavorable competition with local merchants in the center of Hermosillo, where spaces that sell products from other countries, but illegally introduced into the country, have been gaining ground.”
The state governor assured that the “objective of the operation is to guarantee certainty and legality in the sale of products in the capital of the State.”
For his part, the Secretary of Economy, Marcelo Ebrard, declared that the Cleaning Operation carried out in Sonora is three times larger than the one carried out in Plaza Izazaga, on November 30, in Mexico City.
