Pastor of a church in Caborca, Sonora, arrested for alleged sexual abuse
This is David “N”, 54 years old, who was reported on October 7, for which an investigation file was opened against him due to his probable responsibility for the crimes of aggravated indecent assault and aggravated sexual abuse.
As revealed, it was in July 2015, when the accused was with one of the victims, to whom he told that he would pray for her, so she closed her eyes.
At that moment, the subject placed one of his hands on the victim’s head and, with the other, touched her under her clothes, without her consent.
“Taking advantage of the trust placed in him as the pastor of the Christian congregation that the woman attended,” explains the report from the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office.
Later, in March 2016, when he was living with her at a home, he asked the victim to accompany him to the patio to tell her something.
Once there, he asked her to give him a kiss, since he had had a dream that they should start a family. But, when she refused, he took her face with his hands and kissed her on the mouth.
He was not the only victim
In another case, a second victim, taking advantage of his position as pastor of a church in Caborca, Sonora, was asked to enter a study, where he would pray for her.
However, while in the room, the priest allegedly touched her inappropriately, without her consent.
After learning of the evidence against David “N” and his probable responsibility in the aforementioned crimes, he was arrested by elements of the Criminal Investigation Ministerial Agency (AMIC), after a search of a home located in the Deportiva neighborhood in Caborca, Sonora.
After his arrest and after a judge determined justified preventive detention as a precautionary measure, he was admitted to a Social Reintegration Center (Cereso), where he awaits determination of his legal status.
