The recently named magical town is positioned as an emerging tourist destination for diving lovers at a national and international level, thanks to the growing interest in its artificial reef system with the sunken ships ‘Santos’ and ‘Suchiate’.

Feliza Ríos, also in charge of a diving company, confirmed that the number of visitors seeking to explore the reefs has increased significantly, as the diversity of marine species and the underwater beauty of the area have attracted experienced divers from Monterrey, Guadalajara, Mexico City, the United States, Spain and Germany.
She explained that “there are very high expectations for next year when the elections in the United States have already passed and the economy stabilizes a little, the rebound of the reef system will be seen more, but it is increasing, the interest is palpable.”
According to the San Carlos Convention and Visitors Bureau (OCV) during the summer season, the arrival of divers from various parts of Mexico and the world has exceeded expectations, boosting the local economy and projecting a promising future for the sector.
