The Attorney General’s Office of the state (FGJE) of Sonora reported that it arrested José Guadalupe “N”, an active member of the Municipal Police of Guaymas, accused of murdering an American citizen who first shot and killed one of the relatives of the municipal agent.

According to the ministerial authorities, who did not specify when this double homicide occurred, the events began at the facilities of a well-known nightclub in San Carlos, municipality of Guaymas, Sonora.

The authority highlighted that the American citizen, identified as Kevin Ray “N”, first shot at a third person whom he killed and then fled the scene. The victim was a relative of the municipal police officer.

“It is presumed that José Guadalupe “N” (municipal police) pursued the American against whom he opened fire, depriving him of his life,” said the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office in a statement.

After proving the police officer’s probable responsibility, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requested the corresponding arrest warrant from a Control Judge, which was granted and executed by elements of the Criminal Investigation Ministerial Agency (AMIC), who placed the detainee at the disposal of the corresponding authority.

Now, José Guadalupe “N”, accused of his probable responsibility for the crime of qualified homicide, is in a social reintegration center awaiting the start of the investigations required by law and his legal situation to be determined by the courts.

Six armed subjects arrested after deployment of the National Guard in Sonora

Elements of the National Guard (GN) managed to arrest six individuals who were carrying long weapons, cartridges and tactical vests in the municipality of General Plutarco Elías Calles, Sonora, this after the deployment of an operation.

GN agents carried out security and crime prevention patrols in coordination with elements of the Mexican Army on a dirt road located in the aforementioned municipality.

Personnel from both institutions observed two armed individuals hiding in the undergrowth from a distance, so when they approached the individuals, the military agents noticed that there were four other people in the bushes, who were also carrying firearms. Given this situation and to avoid a confrontation, the authorities asked them to throw away their weapons and surrender.

“When they saw that they were outnumbered, they voluntarily agreed and were arrested,” the GN explained. However, the identities of these individuals were not disclosed, so there is no information on their ages and places of origin. It was also not determined whether they were part of a particular criminal group.
