The technical specialist of the National Water Commission in Sonora (Conagua), Gilberto Lagarda Vázquez, reported that this Thursday a new cold front will be entering the state, which will cause favorable conditions for the presence of rain.

Lagarda Vázquez mentioned that, due to the arrival of the fifth winter storm, there will be a 70% chance of precipitation in much of the entity and it is expected that these conditions will last until the weekend.

“This situation will generate favorable conditions for the presence of rain and also snowfall in the high areas of the mountain range in the north and east, conditions that are expected to last on Thursday and Saturday night,” he said.

The presence of snowfall is expected for some municipalities such as Nogales, Cananea, Nacozari and Yécora, with temperature values close to 0 degrees Celsius.
