Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño announced the second phase of the El Cochórit Tourist Boardwalk, a strategic project that will continue the transformation of this important public space in Empalme.

The governor reported that this new phase includes an estimated investment of 64 million pesos, with the construction of an additional 450 linear meters, strengthening the tourist corridor and expanding the infrastructure for the enjoyment of families and visitors.

He emphasized that the start of construction is scheduled for May 2026, as part of a comprehensive vision to consolidate El Cochórit Beach as an attractive, accessible, and competitive destination in the region.

“I am certain that El Cochórit will eventually become a tourist attraction that will help boost Empalme’s economy,” the governor stated.

The second phase will include the expansion of functional spaces, with areas for family gatherings, improvements to pedestrian mobility, and the addition of urban amenities that will enhance the quality of services for the community.

Likewise, landscaping and sustainable infrastructure projects are planned, integrating elements that strengthen the urban landscape and the use of the natural environment.

Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño emphasized that this project not only promotes tourism development but also contributes to local economic recovery, generating better living conditions for the residents of Empalme.
