In a brief statement issued on its X account, the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora (FGJES) confirmed that Blanca Siomara Velázquez Rochin, the young woman illegally deprived of her liberty in Ciudad Obregón, was found safe and sound after the ALBA Protocol was activated. The institution indicated that, thanks to a coordinated operation between the three levels of government, it was possible to determine the whereabouts of the 28-year-old woman and explained that an investigation is underway to find those responsible.

Around 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, the woman was kidnapped while standing in front of the Bugambilias Hotel, located on Allende Street, between Tlaxcala and Tabasco streets, by unknown individuals who forcibly forced her into a silver van. The moment was captured by a security camera in the area, and the video later began circulating on social media.

As a result of an intense search carried out by law enforcement agencies from all three levels of government in key areas of Ciudad Obregón, and the dissemination of the Alba Protocol identification card on social media and in the media, the woman was released and is now safe and sound with her family,” the statement published by the Sonora Prosecutor’s Office states.
