Hannya, a young resident of Puerto Peñasco, reported through a Facebook group that she was the victim of abuse by a local police officer in that municipality while she was on her way to drop her son off at school.

According to her post, the officer, aboard patrol car number 07, stopped her on the grounds that her vehicle had expired license plates. Despite Hannya’s plea for tolerance, explaining that she had her son with her, she was taken to police headquarters to be held accountable before the appropriate authorities.

The citizen reported that, when she refused to hand over her vehicle keys, the officer handcuffed, hit, and threatened her, all in front of her three-year-old son.

Minutes later, the post was deleted from the Facebook group for unknown reasons. However, in an interview with Meganoticias, Hannya stated that she will take legal action, although she did not specify whether she will do so before the Puerto Peñasco Municipal Comptroller’s Office or another authority.
