To strengthen the gastronomic and tourism development of Puerto Peñasco, the Government of Sonora, through the Technological University of Puerto Peñasco (UTPP), will implement training programs and promote initiatives that contribute to economic growth and the positioning of this important tourist destination.

Through institutional collaboration, which will also involve the Higher Technological Institute of Puerto Peñasco (ITSPP) and the Municipal Tourism Office, joint strategies will be promoted between the academic and tourism sectors.

The rector of UTPP, Joaquín Bustamante Cornejo, emphasized that this type of collaboration will consolidate the development of one of the strategic sectors for the Puerto Peñasco economy, emphasizing collaboration as a tool to build a better future for the municipality.

The meeting included the participation of the heads of both higher education institutions and the Municipal Tourism Director, who analyzed various strategies to strengthen collaboration through the UTPP Gastronomic and Tourism Council.

They agreed that coordination between the education sector and municipal authorities will allow for the creation of projects that promote innovation, talent development, and the utilization of the region’s tourism and gastronomic potential.
