With the goal of strengthening Sonora’s electrical infrastructure and ensuring efficient service, the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) announced a temporary power outage in three municipalities in the Sonoran mountains.
According to official information from CFE Sonora, the service interruption will take place next Thursday, May 7, in the municipalities of Bacanora, Arivechi, and Sahuaripa, as part of electrical grid maintenance work.
The agency detailed that the CFE power outage will last 7 hours and 30 minutes, beginning at 6:00 a.m. and ending at 1:30 p.m., during which time improvements will be made to the electrical infrastructure.
In the case of the municipality of Sahuaripa, Sonora, the affected areas will specifically include the communities of Cajón de Onapa, Gusimopa, La Mesita, and Valle de Tacupeto, where the scheduled CFE technical work will be carried out.
The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) explained that these actions are part of a preventative strategy to improve the quality of electricity service in the region, especially in rural areas of Sonora, where geographical conditions present an operational challenge.
It was also stated that the scheduled power outages are necessary to safeguard the well-being of CFE personnel and the public, preventing risks during the maintenance operations.
Given this situation, the CFE requested the understanding of its customers, reiterating that these actions will result in medium- and long-term benefits for the stability of the electricity service.
The CFE reminded the public that for any reports, questions, or clarifications, they can call 071, a number available for assistance during these types of scheduled power outages.
