In a message posted on his social media, the state governor emphasized that this type of recognition is the result of a strategy focused on improving the state’s airport infrastructure, as well as collaboration between different levels of government and the private sector.
Recognition boosts tourism, trade, and investment in the state
Durazo asserted that the achievements at the capital’s airport, along with the announced improvements in connectivity and services, represent an opportunity for Sonora to consolidate itself as an attractive destination for tourism, trade, and investment.
Air connectivity not only opens us up to the world, but is also a key tool for regional economic development,
said the governor,
who emphasized that these advances are part of a broader plan to position Sonora as a more competitive entity on the national and international stage.
Hermosillo International Airport has undergone significant modernization in recent years, including improvements to facilities, passenger service, and logistics operations, which has allowed it to elevate its position within the regional ranking.
This recognition places it as a strategic point for the northwest of the country, with greater capacity to attract domestic and international flights, encourage the arrival of new businesses, and generate quality jobs.
