Members of the Navy (Semar), in collaboration with the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection in Sonora, arrested Iván Fernando “N,” alias 4-40, in Bahía de Kino, Hermosillo, a suspected operator of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

4-40 had an arrest warrant for the alleged crime of organized crime, with the intent to commit crimes against public health.

“It should be noted that as a result of inter-institutional coordination and the execution of these operations, a male alleged lawbreaker was arrested. He had an arrest warrant for the alleged crime of organized crime. He is considered a significant operator of a criminal group with influence in the region, in the municipalities of Nogales and Ímuris in the state of Sonora,” a statement said this Saturday.

“It is important to mention that the detained individual was read his rights in accordance with protocol, and was subsequently brought before the competent authorities to determine his legal status,” Semar stated.

The detainee was linked to a criminal cell affiliated with the Jalisco Nueva Generación Cartel, using facilities to equip vehicles and store weapons and narcotics.
