Implementa Estado “Corredor Seguro” entre Sonoyta y Puerto Peñasco

The implementation of a “Safe Corridor” model will be launched by the State Government on the Sonoyta-Puerto Peñasco highway, as part of the agreements of the Sonora-United States Commission, informed Governor Alfonso Durazo Montaño.

Carrying out this plan, he explained, implies taking concrete actions, such as increasing the number of police officers on said road, in addition to having permanent points that will only be used to inhibit crime.

We are going to start with a safe corridor as a model; it is to specifically design the model on the Sonoyta-Puerto Peñasco highway, it is a model that has several aspects.”

The State Executive announced that there will be the presence of agents from the Public Ministry in the event of any problem and that citizens can turn to them in a close manner.

The State authorities will also have equipment to provide assistance to anyone who has an incident on the highway.

At the last meeting of the Sonora-United States Commission, which took place in Hermosillo, a program was defined to guarantee security on both sides of the border.

On October 18, on the road that leads from Caborca to Altar, Nicholas Douglas, a former US soldier who was traveling in a car that was intercepted by an armed group, was murdered.

The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Sonora (FGJE) continues with the investigations to clarify the events and last weekend carried out some searches in search of the murderers.

THE TRADE ISSUE

The arrival of the American Chamber of Commerce of Mexico (AmCham) to Hermosillo could mark a turning point in the Sonoran economy, said the Governor.

“We already have 60 high-caliber participating companies of North American origin, so I am very optimistic, I think it was the most important point of the meeting,” he said.

But, in addition, it is necessary to look at the benefits that the Sonora Plan provides in the Sonoran region as a whole, as well as the commitment of President Claudia Sheinbaum to establish the Olinia electric vehicle manufacturing plant.
