Puerto Peñasco authorities seek to maintain tourist activity throughout the year in order to reverse the alert calls made by the United States to avoid traveling to Mexico.
This was stated by the mayor of Puerto Peñasco, Jorge Pivac Carrillo, who said that the idea is to increase the attendance of travelers in the low season.
After being a guest at the meeting of the Sonoran Reporters Collective (CORSAS), he stated that during the next summer season they seek to have sufficient provision of services for the attention of tourists.
He recalled that it is with investments and attention from service providers that they seek to maintain the influx of vacationers, especially locals and from Arizona, who visit them during the so-called Spring Break.
He recognized that insecurity events that occur in some way affect the provision of services, however, he has the support of state and federal security authorities for greater peace of mind for visitors.
The neighbors of Arizona consider Puerto Peñasco as their friendly beach, and ask to put order in aspects that affect them
He said that there is the Sonoyta Safe Corridor, so travelers can travel safely to visit Puerto Peñasco.
“We have about 90 Municipal Public Security agents with 10 units, but we also have the support of the Navy, Sedena and the National Guard,” he said.
In this sense, he added that the reactivation of more commercial flights is also sought so that from different destinations in the country they connect directly to Puerto Peñasco, as is the case of Tijuana.
