The Government of Sonora, through the Secretariat of Economy and Tourism (Setur), held a meeting with authorities from the neighboring state of Arizona on film matters, in order to generate strategies focused on attracting more film and digital media production in both regions.

In this important meeting, the Secretary of Economy and Tourism, Roberto Gradillas Pineda, together with the head of the Sonora Executive Office, Paulina Ocaña Encinas, established these agreements with Arizona authorities to continue working together and grow film production.

Gradillas Pineda commented that this strategic alliance seeks to promote the exchange of talent, resources and experiences, as well as promote the competitive advantages that Sonora and Arizona offer to attract national and international audiovisual productions.

“Governor Alfonso Durazo has instructed us to work under his vision and leadership, promoting unique opportunities such as this, contributing not only to economic growth through the promotion of our destinations, but also to the strengthening of the binational relationship between Sonora and Arizona,” said Gradillas Pineda.

With this agreement, Sonora and Arizona expressed their enthusiasm, highlighting the potential of the locations, landscape, infrastructure and talent of both entities, to consolidate themselves as leaders in the film industry.
